Upon completion of the basic course, the Client will be able to communicate orally through in-class dialog, recordings, and telephone conversations, and be able to understand and compose written texts. All course activities are conducted within the cultural context of the countries where the languages are spoken. Having completed the basic course, the Client will have sufficient skills to:
  • be interviewed professionally
  • be involved in professional activities that require the use of informal language
  • circulate, go shopping, participate in leisure activities and social events.

Prerequisite: BASIC or prior equivalency

Upon completion of the advanced course, the Client will have mastered a sufficient mount of the language grammar to perfect his or her oral and written communication skills, and will be sufficiently conversant to discuss aspects of globalization, as well as economic, cultural and historic issues. The Client will be exposed to real-life social, commercial, and business situations, which will subsequently increase his or her confidence in academic and professional language usage.

Prerequisite: ADVANCED or prior equivalency

The conversation course affords the Client the opportunity to practice and improve his or her fluency, comprehension skills, and pronunciation, specially in terms of difficulty with accent, by means of:
  • case studies
  • role-playing of informal international situations and films
  • discussions on polemic issues
  • debates on current local and international news, films, and plays.

Class material: to be determined according to current issues and the Client's specific interests.

Prerequisite: ADVANCED or prior equivalency

The objective of the business course is to familiarize the student with the financial market, interest rates, peculiarities and terminology regarding financial operations (including importation and exportation), banking, accounting, lines of credit, the stock market, and federal, state and municipal taxes and responsibilities. The intent of this program is not to teach managerial skills but to present business terminology.

Class material: a combination of material oriented towards business issues; exercises and dialogues specially designed to approach different situations and possibilities to visit companies.

Prerequisite: ADVANCED or prior equivalency

The objective of the course is to familiarize the Client with different cultural aspects by means of seminars, class discussion, on-line research, interviews with guests who are experts in a variety of cultural fields.

Class material: handouts, DVDs, CDs, research books from libraries, renowned films, videos, up-to-date news exhibited in class for subsequent discussion and possibilities of cultural programs.
